Brasil e Malásia oficializaram, nesta sexta-feira (24), a retomada do comércio de carne de frango brasileira com o país asiático, suspenso anteriormente por medidas sanitárias relacionadas à Influenza Aviária de Alta Patogenicidade (IAAP). Com o acordo, o período de interdição foi reduzido de 12 para três meses.
O governo malaio também adotou o sistema de regionalização, que autoriza exportações por áreas livres da doença. A medida agiliza a liberação da carne de frango e do material genético avícola.
As decisões foram anunciadas durante missão oficial ao Sudeste Asiático, na qual o ministro da Agricultura e Pecuária, Carlos Fávaro, reuniu-se com o ministro da Agricultura e Segurança Alimentar da Malásia, Mohamad Sabu, em Kuala Lumpur, para fortalecer a cooperação bilateral.
O encontro integra a agenda da comitiva liderada pelo presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva à Indonésia e à Malásia, que começou no dia 23 e segue até 28 de outubro. A missão tem como objetivo ampliar parcerias estratégicas com os países.
Novos mercados
Além da carne de frango, as autoridades malaias formalizaram a abertura do mercado para a importação de pescados extrativos e de cultivo, gergelim, melão, maçã e ovos em pó. Na mesma ocasião, o governo malaio antecipou a missão de auditoria que avaliará 16 plantas brasileiras de carne suína.
Para Fávaro, a ampliação representa um avanço significativo para o setor agropecuário brasileiro. “Frango, suínos, frutas, grãos, gergelim, ovos. É o Brasil que gera oportunidades na Malásia, amplia o espaço para nossos produtores e fortalece o agronegócio brasileiro”, enfatizou.

De acordo com o Ministério da Agricultura e Pecuária (Mapa), a Malásia ocupa a 23ª posição entre os principais destinos das exportações do Brasil.
Em 2024, o comércio bilateral entre Brasil e Malásia somou US$ 487,2 milhões, sendo US$ 346,4 milhões em exportações brasileiras e US$ 140,9 milhões em importações. No setor agropecuário, o Brasil exportou US$ 1,26 bilhão para o país asiático no mesmo período, com destaque para açúcar de cana em bruto, milho e algodão.
