O ministro das Comunicações, Frederico de Siqueira Filho, anunciou que o governo brasileiro vai desenvolver uma Política Nacional de Cabos Submarinos para ampliar a infraestrutura digital no país.
A proposta abrirá a possibilidade para a criação de incentivos para que novas rotas de cabos sejam instaladas em locais que estão fora do mapa da conectividade submarina — principalmente nas regiões Norte e Sul do país, que atualmente não contam com nenhum ponto de ancoragem.
O ministro das Comunicações, Frederico de Siqueira Filho, reforça a importância da conectividade nas aéreas mais afastadas do país:
“O Brasil precisa de políticas públicas que chegam aonde as pessoas vivem, com respeito a cada território, a cada região e soluções pragmáticas e sensíveis para um país tão diverso e plural como o nosso. A nossa missão é conectar as comunidades isoladas, expandir infovias e permitir que saúde, educação, pesquisa e cidadania avancem pelo leito dos rios com fibra ótica, acessos de satélite e presença efetiva do governo do presidente Lula naquela região.”
A expectativa é de que a medida possa transformar a infraestrutura digital do país, aumentando a capacidade, velocidade e a segurança da internet e garantir maior equilíbrio regional no acesso às redes internacionais de dados.
Para ouvir a sociedade e o setor de telecomunicações, o Ministério das Comunicações lançou uma tomada de subsídios na plataforma Participa Mais Brasil, do governo federal.
A previsão é que a Política Nacional de Cabos Submarinos seja lançada oficialmente até o fim do ano, após a análise das contribuições.
