A confiança da indústria exportadora brasileira desabou após a entrada em vigor do tarifaço imposto pelos Estados Unidos sobre produtos nacionais. De acordo com levantamento inédito da Confederação Nacional da Indústria (CNI), o Índice de Confiança do Empresário Industrial (ICEI) do setor exportador caiu de 50,2 pontos, em junho, para 45,6 pontos em agosto, sinalizando a mudança do otimismo para o pessimismo.
O ICEI varia até 100 pontos, sendo que valores abaixo de 50 indicam falta de confiança. A queda foi puxada principalmente pelo Índice de Expectativas, que mede a percepção em relação aos próximos seis meses, e recuou de 52,2 pontos para 47,2 pontos no período.
“As taxas de juros elevadas penalizam o consumo dentro do país. Mas as empresas exportadoras, com a opção de vender para o exterior, contornavam a queda da demanda no mercado doméstico e, por isso, mostravam confiança superior à média da indústria”, explica Marcelo Azevedo, gerente de Análise Econômica da CNI.
Além da queda de confiança, um outro estudo da entidade mostra a dimensão do problema. Atualmente, 77,8% da pauta exportadora brasileira destinada aos Estados Unidos enfrenta tarifas extras, algumas chegando a 50%. Os setores mais impactados são vestuário e acessórios (14,6%), máquinas e equipamentos (11,2%) e produtos têxteis (10,4%).
Segundo a CNI, caso as sobretaxas sejam ampliadas, o efeito pode representar um impacto negativo de R$ 20 bilhões no PIB brasileiro e a perda de cerca de 30 mil empregos na indústria.
Missão empresarial aos EUA
A CNI está à frente de uma missão empresarial, em Washington (EUA), nos dias 3 e 4 de setembro, voltada a abrir canais de diálogo e buscar a redução das tarifas extras impostas pelos Estados Unidos a produtos brasileiros. A comitiva reúne cerca de 130 empresários e representantes de entidades industriais.
O presidente da CNI, Ricardo Alban, destaca que a entidade busca diálogo e equilíbrio na relação bilateral. “A proposta eminentemente de empresários para buscarmos lá nos Estados Unidos, a busca de uma relação tão longeva que é a relação bilateral, comercial, cultural, social e econômica entre o Brasil e os Estados Unidos, há mais de 200 anos. Esperamos poder chegar e encontrar um ambiente favorável, onde toda essa questão possa ser feita em uma mesa de negociação e que possamos sensibilizar não só os Estados Unidos, mas mesmo o Brasil nessa complementariedade que nós temos, que é o setor industrial, que é a exportação e importação de produtos manufaturados”, afirmou.
A entidade já apresentou ao governo federal um conjunto de propostas para reduzir os efeitos da crise, entre elas linhas de crédito subsidiadas, postergação de tributos e medidas trabalhistas para preservar empregos.
